Thankful Divers
Thanksgiving is here already. Time relentlessly marches on and the year is almost over. In this season of thanks, we as divers here in NW Ohio have so much to be thankful for. We can be thankful that within 1 ½ hrs of us, we have four excellent locations to explore and enjoy our underwater world.
Portage Quarry that helps promotes D.A.N., and we can be thankful that we are able to dive with some of the legeds of diving history.
We are thankful for White Star Quarry, with its new operators, and all the exciting new events that took place this year, we look foreword to many new events for the coming year. We are thankful that it did not close as what was going to be the case this time last year with inevitable budgets cuts.
Gilboa Quarry, we are thankful that after some tragedies this past year, they thankfully finished the season safely. We remember those that lost their lives and keep those families in our prayers.
Finally, Lake Erie, we are thankful that the pollution control laws and the lowly zebra muscles have made it possible to enjoy the clean clear waters that once were not, for without all that we would not be able to see all that Creator has unveiled for us to preserve for future generations. We must give thanks for the many other dive sites within the great lakes region that are available for us to explore and for those that are only a short plane ride away.
I personally want to thank this newspaper for allowing me to express my enthusiasm for the sport of Scuba Diving.
We thank Creator for the brief forays underwater that he allowed us. Without Creators watchful eye we would not return safely to share the beauty with our friends and family.
I wish you all a happy and safe holiday weekend, and pray you all thank Creator for the many blessings you enjoy as you go about your daily lives.
